Spring break ideas

Spring break is just around the corner! Students attending Utica Community Schools will be off April 4-8, 2016. Here are some fun ideas to keep your children entertained.

Maple syrup program at Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center in Shelby Twp.
Learn how to harvest and make maple syrup. Programs take place throughout the day on Saturday, April 9 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Register at the nature center, located at 4101 River Bends Drive. Learn more at www.facebook.com/Burgessshadbushnaturecenter.

Spring break specials at Stoney Creek Metropark in Shelby Twp.
Children of all ages can sign up for sessions such as Eggcellent Eggs, Paper Makin, Critter Corner, Bird Feeder Fun and/or Wonders of Water. Learn more.

"Babies, Babies Everywhere" at Wolcott Mill Metro Park in Ray Twp.
Walk through the barns and learn about baby animals of all types on the farm. Staff will be on hand to answer your questions and sit on straw bales with animals for photos. Learn more.

Spring break Aqua Camp at the Troy Community Center in Troy
Day camp for children ages 5-13 with activities such as pool time, gym time, moonwalk and pizza party. Learn more.

Spring break art days at Cranbrook Art Museum in Bloomfield Hills
Offering five day-long workshops for children in grades second through seventh. Each day focuses on a different theme so be sure to check out the schedule here.
