Spring Break is just around the corner! Students attending Utica Community Schools will be off April 3-7, 2017. Here are some fun ideas to keep your children entertained.

Spring Break Special: Critter Corner at Stoney Creek Metropark in Shelby Twp.
Children of all ages will learn about the critters in the nature center and watch them eat lunch April 6. Learn more.

Spring Break Activities at Wolcott Mill Metro Park in Ray Twp.
Offerings for children include candle dipping on April 5 and 8, and tie dying t-shirts on April 6. In addition, the “Babies, Babies Everywhere” program celebrating baby animals on the farm takes place April 1-8, with special “Say Goodnight to the Babies” events on April 6 and 7. Open Swim at the Macomb Township Aquatics Center in Macomb Twp.
With two pools including four, 20-yard lap lanes, water slide, log run and lazy river with waterfall, a zero depth entry area, play structure and floor geysers, it will feel like you are on Spring Break. Check hours here.

Open Gym at American Gymnastics in Romeo.

Two-day Mini Camp at Stage Nature Center in Troy.
April 5-6, children ages 6-8 and 9-11 will explore the nature preserve, observe plants and animals. There will be games, activities and crafts. Learn more.

Spring Break Art Days at Cranbrook Art Museum in Bloomfield Hills.
Offering five day-long workshops for children in grades Kindergarten through fifth. Each day focuses on a different theme so be sure to check out the schedule here.

If the Michigan weather cooperates, spend an afternoon at one of the many Shelby Township Parks in the area. Pack a picnic lunch and plan to take a hike, bike ride or just spend time together outdoors with the family. For a list of local parks, visit
